This 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible is a creampuff! Let us start by addressing the question that is first on everyone’s list…..YES, EVERYTHING WORKS! These old Continental convertibles are some of the coolest classic cars on the market. However, they lose their cool factor awfully quickly when all the gadgets and gizmos aren’t working. At Ultra Motorsports, we have had a great deal of experience with these old Continental convertibles. We have some fond memories and some horrifying memories, but all were learning experiences. If we can give one piece of advice it would be this: DO NOT BUY SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM. If it was an easy fix, they would have fixed it themselves. A Lincoln Continental Convertible is an extremely challenging and expensive vehicle to restore. When you find one that is in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically, you better act quickly. This particular Lincoln is in excellent condition. This vehicle has had some previous restoration work but maintains a great deal of original features. While the exterior of the vehicle may appear light blue in some of the photos, the car is actually finished in the original Platinum (white) color. The paint is in excellent condition and shows very well. It is very obvious this car was completely stripped down to be painted. Chrome and stainless are very expensive items to restore on a Lincoln. The chrome and stainless are in VERY GOOD condition on this car. The top is Dark Blue and is in excellent condition. The underside of the car is very solid and shows no visible signs of rot or previous repair. A complete weatherstrip kit for this car would cost $3000+ (do your homework) The weatherstripping on this car is in very good condition. The ORIGINAL DARK BLUE LEATHER INTERIOR shows very well and has a very classic and subtle patina. It is gently worn in all the right places and looks fabulous. LEATHER LEATHER LEATHER…..Do not be fooled by those trying to sell a Lincoln Continental with more cheaply replaced Vinyl interior. A REAL Lincoln Continental Convertible NEVER HAD VINYL INTERIOR, AND A GOOD LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONVERTIBLE NEVER WILL. The door panels are near perfect. A new dash on a Lincoln can cost you $2000….this dash is perfect. The carpet is original and looks great as well. …..Now for the ‘meat and potatoes’……ALL WINDOWS WORK AS THEY SHOULD, A/C WORKS, COURTESY LIGHTS WORK, ALL INSTRUMENTS WORK, AND CONVERTIBLE TOP WORKS AS IT SHOULD. The ORIGINAL engine and transmission have been serviced and are running strong. Overall this 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The color combination of this car shows very well and presents very elegantly. Whether you are looking for a cruiser to hit the town with, a trophy winner at the car show, or the missing piece to your museum, this 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible would be a good fit.
