1964 Cadillac Deville Convertible, this 1 family owned California original car sold in San Francisco has undergone a light restoration on it. Finished in its original color of Matador red the car just received a complete repaint to this color, this was the first repaint of the car and there are some photos of the car prior to the work performed, it was a solid running and driving car with no major rust issues, there was some rust on the passenger side lower sills that was addressed, all trim, bumpers, glass etc. was removed prior to painting, the car has great shine to it, body lines align nice, this ca has never sustained any collision damage and is not filled with bondo, the rear drip rails along the trunk still retain the factory markings 26 and 27 on each rear quarter panel as seen in photos. When putting the car back together we put all new rubber weather-stripping in the car, doors, trunk, inner and outer window channels as well as a complete top set, also handles, mirror, and new hood insulation. Bumpers and other items were sent out to be re plated, all stainless has been polished and straighten, new hardware was used for all items, the factory hubcaps were restored and 4 new radial tires put on last week, the front grill both upper and lower are excellent. A new white top was installed and new top motor and cylinders w new lines added so the top operates smooth and quick. This car still retains the original 6 Digit California Black and Yellow License plates. In the photos you will notice a different shade of red to the both skirts, This is being fixed and will have the same color.
Interior is finished new leather, new door panels, dash, carpet, excellent steering wheel and factory options are 6 Way power seat, Am FM, tilt steering wheel, Power windows, and top. Seat works in forward and back and makes some noise on the incline part, windows all work well, Interior is nice as seen in the photos.
The 429 motor is the original motor and has had an upper end done some years back, we just rebuilt the original carb, changed all fluids, belts, hoses etc. and serviced the car, the brakes on all four corners were done complete and new wheel bearings, some front end parts were done as well and the car was just aligned. The turbo 400 Trans is shifting well. New complete Dual Exhaust just installed.
This is a nice car, it is not a pebble beach show car but will for sure win some trophy’s at your local car show, the 64 Is the last of the tail fins on the Cadillac’s, first year of the 429 motor and turbo 400 trans.
