PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING: Out went the slushbox, replaced with a custom-spec 5-speed manual with a Hurst shifter. Out went the 2.73 rear axle (replaced with 3.55), the master cylinder, the shocks (now has complete Eibach upgraded suspension package including shocks, springs and sway bars – see photos), the brakes (now wearing Baers with slotted and drilled rotors), the wheels and tires (now 5-lug wheels wearing 245/45 R17 Bridgestone Potenza) and lots else. ENGINE: I was going to hype the engine but with the spec-built manual transmission, it really didn’t need it as I didn’t intend to drag race it. I set it up to Autocross but never got around to doing so. INTERIOR: I got rid of that ugly ’92 steering wheel with the humongous airbag because (a) it is ugly and (b) in ’92, they didn’t have a tilt wheel so when I replaced the steering wheel with an earlier model wheel, I put the earlier tilt column in as a replacement. I replaced the seat covers and the seat foam. I installed an aftermarket radio with all of the updated goodies. EXTERIOR: I replaced the top and tinted the windows with high-end ceramic tint. As to the exterior, I want to disclose to the buyer that this is NOT a pristine exterior car. There are little scratches and scrapes but no dents. One of the former owners tried to touch up some of the spots and used the incorrect paint color (a darker red). If you want to win a trophy for pristine body and paint, this is not your car. If you want to win a trophy for a one-of-a-kind Fox Mustang that handles, stops, shifts and steers really well and is FUN to drive (I took it on the Power Tour three years ago), this is your car! Mechanically, everything works. Due to the non-stock wheel/tire combination, the front tires rub ever so slightly on a hard turn in a parking situation. That can be cured by rolling the fenders a bit. I never saw it as a real problem.
